In 2008, Naples hosted its first major international theatre festival – Teatro Festival Italia. We decided that, during those weeks, the whole city would speak European: not only in its programme, but also in the visual identity adopted to address an international audience. TassinariVetta office, which was entrusted with the task, steered it towards the canon of a novel design, beyond any convention. They devised a system of letters and symbols that perfectly aligned with the festival’s founding ethos, integrating it rather than merely interpreting it. That boldness deserves the tribute it is owed today to those who were not afraid to innovate. And innovate they did.

Nel 2008 Napoli accolse il primo grande festival internazionale di teatro – Teatro Festival Italia. Decidemmo che in quelle settimane l’intera città avrebbe parlato europeo: non solo nella programmazione, ma anche nell’identità visiva con cui si presentava internazionalmente. TassinariVetta, cui fu dato il compito, propose i canoni grafici dell’inedito, oltre ogni consuetudine. Compose un sistema di lettere e segni che coincideva meravigliosamente con la poetica degli inizi del festival, completandola, non solo interpretandola. Quell’audacia esige oggi il tributo che si deve a chi non ebbe paura di innovare. E innovò.
